Gus` Italian Cafe and Sports Bar in Mechanicsville

I wish I could give them 0 stars. The food is absolutely disgusting and taste like something a child could have cooked up. They also were EXTREMELY rude and had poor customer service. I was excited to support an Italian business, but this place is just trash. Guess I will be going back to Maggianos

I’m a regular, and that’s because it’s always amazing food and service! Great place to eat, watch a game, or enjoy karaoke on Saturday nights. Never disappointed.

Great little bar

This is always our go to place for dinner. Always super quick service and overall great environment. We also always sit on bar side because they have a bunch of TVs. They also do karaoke on Saturday nights I believe

My friends and I came here one night for dinner. It took them 15 minutes to seat us, which I understood that they were probably busy. After two of the waitresses sat and talked to each other for 15 minutes they decided to seat us. We then sat and waited 20 more minutes until we finally decided to leave. The waitresses had very bad attitudes and were rude during each encounter. I used to come here a lot with my husband but sadly I will not be returning.

Visit was a Saturday at lunch so it was Quiet and non-rushed. Love their Gus hamburgers! Been eating here on and off since they opened in old mechanicsville. Lots of happy memories.

Relax or sports bar. The service and the tasty food was filling and pleasant. Nice bar

Clean venue, good prices and great service! Gus's has a great selection of appetizers, burgers, sandwiches and salads. I recommend the Bang Bang shrimp or wings! They also have a decent selection craft beers and bourbon for every pallet.

Staple in Mechanicsville. If you haven't been just go now. Everything is good

Gus' is Mechanicsville's own Cheer's,.... were everybody knows your name!! They take pride in their menu, and the regulars defend it to the hilt!! I'm pretty indecisive, and regulars have always been quick to make suggestions!! Great conversation and great beer!!

This place has horrible customer service. Waited 5 minutes to get seated which is no big deal at all but got to the table hostess stated that the server would be with us in a moment and after 20 MINUTES still no server.. they kept seeing people Being seated and the place was not packed at all.. it would have been fine if we had least gotten water or even them checking in on us, but nothing.. very disappointed probably will not be returning.

Very good food. It's a happy place! Karoke every Saturday night, you can go for dinner or enjoy a drink at their bar. Reasonable can prices.

Gus's has very good food and drinks and the waitress's and Bar Tenders are always courteous & I'm sure that they will always perform the task that is expected of them! As a favorite actor used to say: I'LL BE BACK!

Food was good. Reasonably priced.

The staff is second to none they are great! We've had a great time on the bar side every time we've attended and watch the game or just had a cold beverage. The memorabilia in the bar area is fascinating to look at and reminisce about.

Food is cheap. Our sample platter was literally microwaved. The "potato skins" were frozen potatoe wedges with pizza toppings on them. Very disappointed. Not worth the price of the food. We literally ordered the sampler platter and decided to go eat elsewhere. Our waitress was great though.

Great menu with something for everyone..Food is very good..the shrimp are huge, the pizza is some of the best I've had. Service is great and very friendly

Gus’ is our favorite place to eat in Mechanicsville. The best pizza around, great drinks and options for everyone. Our son especially loves their grilled cheese.

We ate here for the first time today. It was a Friday night and most tables were full. The menu is varied; lots of choices. I had a special: flank steak and a crabcake, plus two sides, for $17.95. The flank steak was amazing, juicy, tender and flavorful. My wife had the chicken and shrimp Alfredo. It was a huge portion.Service was good. I think we'll come back.

I ordered a pizza by phone. when I picked up the pizza I was charged a higher price than the price set forth on the web site. When I questioned the sales person I was told that the owner had increased the price of the pizzas.

A family go to for years. This family owned business has been a staple in our community and consistently provides excellent customer service and fabulous food, offering a great variety!!!

I really like this place but the last time I was there and ordered fish and chips, was very disappointed that the fish was like fish sticks.

We went to Gus's for the first time because brother praised it, then we get there order are food double check with Cole to make sure he has order correct because every server thinks they can remember everything, takes almost 30 minutes to get food,once it comes 1 of the pizza's was wrong,tell Cole and he goes to have another one made and it takes almost another 30 minutes and everyone else is done eating. After waiting so long and everyone else done ask if if the one pizza will be on the house, Cole said it's not there policy to take care of costumers when Gus's does something wrong.then we asked to talk to his father and he was even worse then his son. He came out and he was a bigger prick then Cole, said why should he pick up the tab on the pizza even though it was there mistake, so after all this this he took the over pizza back and didn't charge for it as long as it wasn't ate!!!!!!! AT THIS POINT YOU COULDN'T PAY ME TO EAT THERE AGAIN.!!!!!!!

With so many new restaurants popping up in Mechanicsville ,several years had passed since I had visited an old favorite of mine, Gus' Italian Cafe. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that it is alive and doing well. I ordered the Buffalo Chicken Salad. It arrived timely and it was delicious . A variety of crisp fresh salad greens with thinly sliced cukes and red onions, halved cherry tomatoes, a sprinkling of cheese and an ample amount of chicken slices.Gus' has a large menu to choose from and prompt friendly service.

My 1st time tonight and we were a 12 top. Alisa took great care of us and was very attentive. Food was excellent, everyoneone got something different. I highly recommend Gus's.

I placed a to go order for a chicken philly asked for the dressing on the side because they usually drench it and its completely soggy I drove from Glen Allen on my lunch break drove back to work to find no dressing only a bone dry sub. Partially my fault for not checking my order assuming the staff is competent. I should have been offered a refund was not even offered a discount.

There was a problem in the kitchen with me ordering a 10pc wing all legs, which was confusing to me since It was dead in the store,so I canceled that order and ordered a 20pc and was assured that I would receive 10 flats and 10 legs. after spending 80.00 and a 40min drive home,I opened my container and see that I have only 4 flats and 16legs! Not a good experience for a 1st time customer!

Great pizza, clean, friendly, not always fast but that's because they're making it delicious 😋 Not geared towards kids but family friendly on one side. There's also a bar side (I haven't seen) but everyone sounds like they're having a good time over there. 😉

Gus’ is a wonderful family owned business. You can tell they pride themselves on customer service and the food is simply amazing! I recommend their Ribeye steak sandwich it’s super delicious!

It's a hole in the wall Mechanicsville gem. Really good beer selection for a mom and pop stop, great apps, and the Philly is dope.

My first time ever going here, it's pretty good! The decor was a little meh for my tastes, but what really matters is the food.Got a simple burger and was happy with it. Wasn't blown away, and I asked for well done, not medium, but that's a minor knit pick. Our waitress was a very sweet girl, as we're the rest of the staff. Not my favorite restaurant in town, but I wouldn't mind going back!
